Optum New York (formerly Optum Tri-State NY) is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our team in Poughkeepsie, NY. As part of the Optum Care Delivery team, you'll play a vital role in our mission to improve healthcare for everyone.

Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Assess and interpret evaluations and test results to develop and implement personalized physical therapy treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
  2. Assist patients in achieving their treatment goals through manual exercises, therapeutic activities, and the use of assistive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  3. Administer physical therapy treatments, including massages, traction, hydrotherapy, ultrasound, and other modalities, while supervising aides and technicians.
  4. Evaluate treatment effectiveness and prosthetic/orthotic fit, recommending adjustments as needed.
  5. Coordinate discharge planning with healthcare team members and develop home exercise programs to ensure continuity of care.
  6. Document all patient care accurately in electronic health records using appropriate templates.
  7. Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a safe, clean working environment by adhering to protocols and regulations.
  8. Follow infection control policies and perform equipment maintenance as required.
  9. Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, publications, and professional networks.
  10. Participate in training and development initiatives for the physical therapy team.
  11. Ensure compliance with legal and professional standards, and contribute to team efforts as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Valid NY State Physical Therapy license
  • Current CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience

The annual salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600, depending on experience, education, and other factors.
