Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services in Tupelo, MS seeks a Supervisory Physical Therapist to lead a rehab team. You will supervise PTAs and technicians, evaluate patient treatment plans, and ensure timely and compliant documentation.

You will manage budgets for equipment, mentor staff, and provide continuing education while maintaining clinical excellence. The role may involve cross-covering other rehab areas as needed within your competencies.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience leading PTAs/technicians.

• Maintains competency in evaluation skills and common modalities.

Responsibilities

• Delegate authority to PTAs and technicians.
• Maintain department productivity to target levels.
• Evaluate and establish treatment plans for referred patients.
• Maintain competency in modalities (heat, cold, ultrasound, electrotherapy, therapeutic exercise).
• Attend and provide continuing education in-servicing.
• Mentor new employees or volunteers; train as clinical instructor after one year.
• Complete documentation per regulations in a timely manner.
• Possibly cover other rehab areas as needed within competencies.
• Budget management for equipment and supplies; ensure timeliness of charges.

Supervisory:

• Delegates authority to PTA’s and Technicians
  Clinical:
• Maintains productivity level at department target
• Evaluates and establishes treatment plan for any patient referred to Physical Therapy
• Remains competent in the following areas: Evaluation skills, Modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrotherapy, Therapeutic exercise, Gait training, Whirlpool, Wheelchair transfers
• Attends and provides continuing education in-servicing
• Serves as mentor for new employee(s) or volunteers
• Serves as clinical instructor after one year of experience as a clinician
• Completes documentation according to all regulations and in a timely manner
• To meet patient care needs you may be required to cover other areas of rehab within the limits and scope of your clinical competencies
  Budget:
• Remains within monthly budget when ordering equipment and supplies
• Charges patients appropriately and in a timely manner for treatment and equipment
  Other:
• Must be competent in use of computer for documentation and charging purposes
