Henry Ford Health is seeking a Physical Therapist in Michigan to perform patient evaluations, diagnose movement dysfunction, and apply interventions to promote movement, reduce pain, and restore function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Physical Therapy with 5 years of experience or a Master’s/Doctorate from a CAPTE-accredited program.
  • Current State of Michigan licensure or eligibility within 30 days of applying.
  • Current CPR certification (or within 90 days of hire).

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient assessment, treatment, discharge planning and collaboration with other health care providers.
  • Documents patient care and billing information timely and in accordance with department standards.
  • Communicates with co-workers and other professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Functions as a team member in care of patients and mentoring with other staff.
  • Delegates patient care tasks to support staff with appropriate supervision.
  • Maintains clinical productivity standards.
  • Maintains clinical expertise through ongoing education.
  • Participates in in-services, staff meetings and program development.
  • Maintains patient safety awareness and equipment use and maintenance.
  • Maintains HIPAA confidentiality and compliance with HFHS policies.
  • Represents HFHS at community and professional functions if requested.
  • Participates in student education programs.

Perform PT evaluation and diagnose movement dysfunction; use interventions to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function and prevent disability.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs patient assessment, treatment, discharge planning and collaboration with other health care providers.
  • Documents patient care and billing information timely and in accordance with department standards.
  • Communicates with co-workers, and other professionals, including physicians and nurses as needed to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Functions as a team member in care of patients and in mentoring with other staff.
  • Delegates aspects of patient care to support staff per PT/PTA MI Licensure Administrative Rules providing necessary communication and supervision.
  • Maintains clinical productivity standards.
  • Maintains technical clinical expertise through ongoing clinical education.
  • Participates in in-services, staff meetings, quality activities and aspects of program development.
  • Maintains awareness of patient safety issues within the clinic and in the use of equipment. Assists in the maintenance of patient care equipment as needed.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality according to HFHS HIPAA policies.
  • Maintains adherence to all applicable Federal/State law/regulations, APTA standards of practice, MI Licensure requirements, the HFHS Integrity/ Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, as well as all other HFHS policies and procedures.
  • If requested, represents HFHS at community and professional functions.
  • Participates in student education programs
  • May have other duties assigned as needed.

** EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**

  • Physical Therapist bachelor degree with 5 years of experience OR Master’s/Doctorate degree acquired from a Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited program
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
  • Current State of Michigan licensure. Will consider those who will be licensed within 30 days of applying.
  • Current CPR certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
