Job Summary: The Physical Therapist at East Campus will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive physical therapy program. Responsibilities include performing patient evaluations, goal setting, treatment planning, follow-up assessments, and ongoing education for patients and their families. The therapist provides care in accordance with Physical Therapy, Medical Center policies, procedures, and discipline-specific practice acts. This role involves outpatient services under physician orders, fostering a supportive department environment, promoting professional relationships, and practicing resource conservation. The therapist may supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Technicians and participate in clinical research trials related to physical therapy and patient outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Master's Degree in Physical Therapy required. A suitable combination of education, training, or experience, along with a California license in Physical Therapy, is acceptable. No prior experience is necessary.
Knowledge and Skills: Ability to operate assessment and care equipment independently, communicate effectively in English (Spanish preferred), use necessary computer software, troubleshoot equipment, and relate positively with others. Must be assertive, professional, calm under pressure, and capable of supervising staff. Skills include critical thinking, independent work, multitasking, problem-solving, organization, attention to detail, and sensory discernment relevant to patient care.
Licensures and Certifications: Current California Physical Therapy license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and CCS paneling if assigned to Pediatric Rehabilitation or within twelve months of hire. Valid driver's license required at hire.
