Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Physical Therapist DPT/SCD (LPT) is responsible for evaluating, planning, educating, utilizing exercises and physical therapy modalities in the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals with medical problems, health-related conditions, or developmental disabilities that limit their ability to move or perform functional activities. The therapist also helps prevent conditions associated with loss of mobility, promotes movement, reduces pain, restores function, and prevents disability to support individuals in achieving healthy and active lifestyles. Some travel may be required between facilities and for various job functions. This summary highlights the primary duties and responsibilities and does not exclude other assigned tasks.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to travel to facilities as needed.
• Membership in a professional organization is preferred.
• Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct by following all policies and procedures, attending required training, and reporting suspected compliance issues immediately to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

• Must be a graduate of a Doctoral program in Physical Therapy. Licensure in the State of Texas as a Physical Therapist is required, or a valid temporary license while awaiting permanent licensure.
• Clinical experience is preferred.
• Must have and maintain current BCLS certification in accordance with AHA guidelines for Healthcare Providers.
