Job summary

HAN Staff is hiring a Physical Therapist in Jarratt, VA to evaluate and treat patients in a correctional healthcare setting. The role requires an active Virginia PT license and at least one year of recent experience. You will develop individualized plans, administer therapies, educate patients, and document progress.

Join a dedicated team offering benefits and a supportive work environment, with a day shift from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Local pay is $60.00/hour (W2).

Qualifications

• Current, valid Virginia PT license in good standing.
• 1+ year of recent physical therapy experience (within last 3 years).
• Primary Source Verification (PSV) may be required from the licensing board.
• Current certifications such as BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients to assess mobility, strength, balance, and functional limitations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility and reduce pain.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and manual therapy.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust plans based on outcomes.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and home programs.
• Assist patients in restoring function after injury or illness.
• Document evaluations, treatments, and progress accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate care.
• Ensure compliance with facility policies and safety standards.
• Promote independence and improve quality of life through rehabilitation.

Physical Therapist (PT) Duties & Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients to assess mobility, strength, balance, and functional limitations.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility and reduce pain.

• Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other rehabilitation techniques.

• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical outcomes.

• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, injury prevention, and home exercise programs.

• Assist patients in restoring function following injury, surgery, or illness.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatments, and patient progress.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care.

• Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Promote patient independence and improve overall quality of life through rehabilitation services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted VA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

• Minimum of 1+ year within the last 3 years of recent experience as a Physical Therapist

• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., . BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,).
