Job Overview

BrightStar Care is looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing team. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will help implement treatment plans designed to improve patient mobility, strength, coordination, and overall quality of life. Care is provided in a variety of settings, including patient homes and facilities throughout Greater Chester County.

Responsibilities

1. Carrying out physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
2. Assisting patients with exercises, mobility training, and other therapeutic interventions
3. Monitoring patient progress and reporting outcomes to the Physical Therapist
4. Providing patient and family education regarding home exercise programs
5. Documenting services provided and patient response in a timely and accurate manner
6. Ensuring safe and effective therapy by using proper body mechanics and patient-handling techniques
7. Maintaining communication with supervising PT, other healthcare team members, and families
8. Traveling to patient homes or facilities throughout Greater Chester County and surrounding areas as needed

Requirements

1. Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
2. Current state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Pennsylvania
3. Minimum of one (1) year of experience preferred, especially in a home health or clinical setting
4. Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and patient care techniques
5. Ability to work independently while following a treatment plan developed by a licensed PT
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
7. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs as required by patient needs
8. Willingness to travel within the Greater Chester County area (travel time and mileage negotiated per case)
9. Comply with HIPAA and maintain patient confidentiality
