Job Overview

BrightStar Care is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will help implement treatment plans to improve patient mobility, strength, coordination, and overall quality of life. Services are provided in various settings, including patient homes and facilities throughout Greater Chester County.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
• Assisting patients with exercises, mobility training, and other therapeutic interventions
• Monitoring patient progress and reporting outcomes to the Physical Therapist
• Providing patient and family education regarding home exercise programs
• Documenting services provided and patient responses accurately and promptly
• Ensuring safe therapy practices using proper body mechanics and patient-handling techniques
• Communicating effectively with the supervising PT, healthcare team, and families
• Traveling to patient homes or facilities throughout Greater Chester County as needed

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
• Current state license or certification to practice as a PTA in Pennsylvania
• Preferred: Minimum of one (1) year of experience, especially in home health or clinical settings
• Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and patient care techniques
• Ability to work independently following a treatment plan developed by a licensed PT
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to travel within Greater Chester County (travel time and mileage negotiable)
• Compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
