Responsibilities include instructing patients, observing responses, communicating with caregivers, and transporting patients as needed. A valid state license and an associates degree are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
• Proficiency with applicable state, federal, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Instructs, motivates, safeguards, and assists patients as they practice exercises or functional activities.
• Observes patients during treatments and reports progress to the physical therapist.
• Confers with staff and caregivers to discuss patient information and treatment plans.
• Transports patients and secures them for therapy sessions.
• Administers manual therapy, aquatic therapy, and modalities like ultrasound as prescribed.
• Measures range of motion, vital signs, and evaluates treatment effects.
• Monitors equipment use and maintains timely records.
• Fits patients for braces, prostheses, and assistive devices.
