Origin Travel Nurses seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide direct patient care under a licensed Physical Therapist in outpatient or rehabilitation settings. You will assist with exercises, document progress, and support families in home programs.

Job description

A Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) at our facility provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, assisting patients in rehabilitation and helping them achieve functional goals.

Key Responsibilities

PTAs work closely with Physical Therapists to deliver high-quality musculoskeletal care. Their primary duties include:

  • Assisting patients with exercises, stretches, and therapeutic activities to improve mobility, strength, and function.
  • Using devices such as walkers or braces to support patient movement and reduce pain.
  • Observing and documenting patient progress, reporting findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educating patients and families on home exercise programs, wellness strategies, and post-treatment care.
  • Preparing and maintaining therapy equipment and treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
  • Supporting patient transfers and mobility within the clinic or rehabilitation environment.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
