Job summary

Topaz Fiscal Services seeks a motivated Physical Therapy Assistant to deliver clinical services to residents under physician orders and to assist the Physical Therapist in procedures, tests, and treatments, ensuring safe, effective evaluation and care.

You will participate in interdisciplinary and family meetings, maintain confidentiality and accurate billing records, follow rehabilitation policies, provide staff training, and support continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical services to residents under physician’s orders
• Reports patient progress or response to treatment to the Physical Therapist
• Assists Physical Therapist in procedures, tests, and complex treatments
• Participates in continuing education and professional development
• Maintains confidentiality of patient, facility, and physician-related information
• Maintains accurate billing information daily per procedures
• Attends interdisciplinary meetings to relay clinical findings to rehab team
• Attends family meetings as appropriate
• Adheres to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation department and facility
• Conducts staff training/education via in-services and consultations
• Reviews and follows facility policies and procedures
• Supervises non-professional staff as appropriate

Job description

The Physical Therapy Assistant:

• Provides clinical services to appropriate residents under physician’s orders
• Reports information relating to the patient’s progress, complications, and/or response to treatment to the Physical Therapist
• Assists Physical Therapist in performing procedures, test and complex treatments to ensure the safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients
• Assumes responsibility for continued professional growth and development by participating in continuing education programs and other appropriate learning experiences
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient, facility, and physician-related information
• Maintains accurate billing information, in accordance with procedures, on a daily basis
• Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings, as appropriate, to relay clinical findings and recommendations to other members of the rehab team
• Attends and participates in family meetings, as appropriate
• Adheres to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation department and the facility
• Conducts staff training/education, as appropriate, via formal and informal in-services and consultations
• Reviews and follows the policies and procedures outlined by the facility.
• Supervises non-professional staff, as appropriate
