Job summary

Topaz Fiscal Services in Kentucky is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to provide clinical services to residents under physician orders and to support the Physical Therapist in delivering safe and effective care.

The PTA will participate in meetings, assist with documentation, billing, and compliance tasks, and collaborate with the rehab team to optimize patient outcomes while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Physical Therapy and KY license required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance with state/federal regulations affecting the treatment environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services to residents under physician orders.
• Report patient progress and responses to treatment to the Physical Therapist.
• Assist the Physical Therapist with procedures and treatments to ensure safe, effective evaluation and treatment.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, facility, and physician information.
• Maintain accurate daily billing information per procedures.
• Attend interdisciplinary meetings to relay clinical findings and recommendations.
• Attend family meetings as appropriate.
• Adhere to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation department and facility.
• Conduct staff training and in-services as appropriate.
• Review and follow Rehab policies and procedures.
• Supervise non-professional staff, as appropriate.

Job description

The Physical Therapist Assistant must have: Associates Degree in Physical Therapy, current license in the state, excellent oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance within state and federal regulations related to the environment of treatment.

The Physical Therapy Assistant:

• Provides clinical services to appropriate residents under physician’s orders
• Reports information relating to the patient’s progress, complications, and/or response to treatment to the Physical Therapist
• Assists Physical Therapist in performing procedures, test and complex treatments to ensure the safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients
• Assumes responsibility for continued professional growth and development by participating in continuing education programs and other appropriate learning experiences
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient, facility, and physician-related information
• Maintains accurate billing information, in accordance with procedures, on a daily basis
• Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings, as appropriate, to relay clinical findings and recommendations to other members of the rehab team
• Attends and participates in family meetings, as appropriate
• Adheres to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation department and the facility
• Conducts staff training/education, as appropriate, via formal and informal in-services and consultations
• Reviews and follows the policies and procedures outlined by the facility and Rehab Policy and Procedure Manual
• Supervises non-professional staff, as appropriate
