Job summary

Middleburg Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant to provide clinical services to residents under physician orders in a supportive rehab team. The role requires licensure, an associate degree, and strong communication skills.

You will report patient progress to the supervising Physical Therapist, assist with procedures, and help ensure compliant documentation and billing. Ongoing education and participation in team meetings are expected.

Qualifications

  • Must have an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy and current licensure in the state.

  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance within state and federal regulations related to the environment of treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical services to appropriate residents under physician's orders.
  • Reports patient progress, complications, and response to treatment to the Physical Therapist.
  • Assists Physical Therapist in procedures, tests and complex treatments to ensure safe, effective evaluation and treatment.
  • Participates in continuing education and professional development.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient, facility, and physician information.
  • Maintains accurate billing information in accordance with procedures.
  • Attends interdisciplinary meetings to relay findings and recommendations.
  • Participates in family meetings as appropriate.
  • Adheres to documentation requirements of Rehab department and the facility.
  • Conducts staff training/education via in-services and consultations.
  • Reviews and follows facility policies and Rehab Manual.
  • Supervises non-professional staff as appropriate.

Job description

The Physical Therapist Assistant must have: Associates Degree in Physical Therapy, current license in the state, excellent oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance within state and federal regulations related to the environment of treatment.

The Physical Therapist Assistant:

  • Provides clinical services to appropriate residents under physician's orders
  • Reports information relating to the patient's progress, complications, and/or response to treatment to the Physical Therapist
  • Assists Physical Therapist in performing procedures, test and complex treatments to ensure the safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients
  • Assumes responsibility for continued professional growth and development by participating in continuing education programs and other appropriate learning experiences
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient, facility, and physician-related information
  • Maintains accurate billing information, in accordance with procedures, on a daily basis
  • Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings, as appropriate, to relay clinical findings and recommendations to other members of the rehab team
  • Attends and participates in family meetings, as appropriate
  • Adheres to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation department and the facility
  • Conducts staff training/education, as appropriate, via formal and informal in-services and consultations
  • Reviews and follows the policies and procedures outlined by the facility and Rehab Policy and Procedure Manual
  • Supervises non-professional staff, as appropriate
