Job summary

Topaz Fiscal Services LLC is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide clinical services under physician orders in a licensed setting. This role supports the Physical Therapist, communicates patient progress, and helps implement treatments while ensuring safety and compliance.

The PTA will participate in continuing education, maintain confidentiality, and assist in interdisciplinary rehab activities, including staff training and family meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy and active state license.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of accreditation standards and state/federal regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical services to residents under physician orders.
• Reports patient progress, complications, and response to treatment to the Physical Therapist.
• Assists the Physical Therapist with procedures, tests and treatments for safe evaluation and care.
• Participates in continuing education for professional growth.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient, facility, and physician information.
• Maintains accurate billing information daily per procedures.
• Relays clinical findings in interdisciplinary meetings with rehab team.
• Participates in family meetings as appropriate.
• Adheres to Rehabilitation department document standards and facility policies.
• Provides staff training and in-services as appropriate.
• Follows Rehab Policy and Procedure Manual.
• Supervises non-professional staff when appropriate.

Job description

The Physical Therapist Assistant must have: Associates Degree in Physical Therapy, current license in the state, excellent oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance within state and federal regulations related to the environment of treatment.
The Physical Therapy Assistant:

• Provides clinical services to appropriate residents under physician’s orders
• Reports information relating to the patient’s progress, complications, and/or response to treatment to the Physical Therapist
• Assists Physical Therapist in performing procedures, test and complex treatments to ensure the safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients
• Assumes responsibility for continued professional growth and development by participating in continuing education programs and other appropriate learning experiences
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient, facility, and physician-related information
• Maintains accurate billing information, in accordance with procedures, on a daily basis
• Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings, as appropriate, to relay clinical findings and recommendations to other members of the rehab team
• Attends and participates in family meetings, as appropriate
• Adheres to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation department and the facility
• Conducts staff training/education, as appropriate, via formal and informal in-services and consultations
• Reviews and follows the policies and procedures outlined by the facility and Rehab Policy and Procedure Manual
• Supervises non-professional staff, as appropriate
