$55.00 PER HOUR 12 WEEK COMMITMENT

What you will do in this role:

  • Under supervision of PT, implement comprehensive treatment programs, review and modify as needed, and identify discharge needs.
  • Observe patient injury/diagnosis and take necessary precautions.
  • Assist in patient preparation for treatments and provide therapy to diverse populations, documenting according to policies.
  • Communicate with support staff regarding treatment orders.
  • Apply physical agents, exercises, or gait training as outlined by the licensed PT, progressing patients appropriately.
  • Conduct group classes when appropriate.
  • Monitor treatment effects and progress, suggesting changes to the PT.
  • Follow ethical, legal, and departmental guidelines, demonstrating professional accountability.
  • Communicate effectively with team members throughout care continuum.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation of treatments.
  • Assess and manage pain interfering with rehabilitation, consulting with supervising staff and physicians as needed.
  • Instruct caregivers and family on home exercises and equipment needs.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and keep the supervising therapist informed.
  • Identify and report problems, ensuring safety in treatment implementation.
  • Contribute to department operations, including equipment management and space utilization.
  • Record charges daily and assist in scheduling and program development.
  • Develop and instruct in home programs, assist with discharge planning, and participate in team and family conferences.
  • Assist with inventory, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Observe and record cardiovascular responses during therapy.
  • Plan educational programs and provide orientation and supervision to staff and students.
  • Transport patients and equipment as needed, and utilize computer systems for documentation and billing.
  • Use specialized equipment and advanced techniques with competency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state.
  • Inpatient rehab experience preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
