Job summary

Fiberhire is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a flexible PRN role in Franklin, MA. You will work with licensed Physical Therapists to deliver high-quality rehab services aimed at improving mobility, strength, and independence.

Ideal candidates are compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused, with strong communication and teamwork skills. Eligibility includes MA PTA licensure and CPR/BLS, with prior SNF/rehab experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid Massachusetts PTA license.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required as applicable.
  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy treatment and rehabilitation services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional independence.
  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, activities, transfers, gait training, and mobility techniques.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist and clinical staff.
  • Document treatments, patient responses, progress, and other information accurately and timely.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, safety precautions, and use of assistive devices.
  • Promote patient safety and follow infection control and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintain a professional and supportive environment encouraging patient participation and progress.
  • Assist patients in achieving highest possible independence and quality of life.
  • Follow all regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in care planning, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary meetings.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation per requirements.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team in Franklin, MA on a PRN basis. The PTA will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists and the interdisciplinary care team to provide high-quality physical therapy services designed to improve mobility, strength, function, independence, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physical therapy treatment and rehabilitation services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

  • Implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional independence.

  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, activities, transfers, gait training, and mobility techniques.

  • Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition or functional status to the supervising Physical Therapist and appropriate clinical staff.

  • Document treatments, patient responses, progress, and other required information accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, safety precautions, and appropriate use of assistive devices.

  • Promote patient safety and follow established infection control and safety procedures.

  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Maintain a professional and supportive environment that encourages patient participation and progress.

  • Assist patients in achieving their highest possible level of independence and quality of life.

  • Follow all applicable federal, state, and facility regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Participate in care planning, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate.

  • Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements
  • Current and valid Massachusetts Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license.

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

  • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required as applicable.

  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or a healthcare setting preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, and rehabilitation practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
