Job summary

Cabarrus Health & Rehabilitation Center in Concord, NC, is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. You will provide skilled services under the supervision of a licensed PT to help residents regain function and independence.

Qualifications

• Active unencumbered licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in North Carolina.
• Associate’s degree from an accredited PTA program.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy services to residents under supervision of a licensed PT.
• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising PT.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, and other prescribed interventions.
• Assist residents with mobility training, transfers, balance activities, and modalities.
• Train residents on assistive devices to promote safe mobility.
• Explain procedures and treatments to gain residents’ cooperation.
• Monitor resident progress and communicate observations to the supervising PT.
• Maintain residents’ medical records with documentation of treatments and progress.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Educate residents and families on home exercise programs and safety measures.
• Observe emotional stability and prepare residents for continuing care after discharge.
• Perform other duties as required to provide exceptional care.

What You’ll Do

• Provide skilled physical therapy services to residents under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT).

• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising PT to help residents achieve their rehabilitation goals.

• Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, and other prescribed interventions to restore function and reduce pain.

• Assist residents with mobility training, transfers, balance activities, and therapeutic modalities such as heat, cold, and electrical stimulation.

• Train residents on the use of assistive devices, including walkers, canes, crutches, and wheelchairs, to promote safe mobility.

• Explains procedures and treatments to gain residents’ cooperation and allay apprehension.

• Monitor resident progress and communicate observations and treatment outcomes to the supervising PT.

• Maintains residents’ medical records with thorough documentation of treatments provided, progress notes, and response to therapy.

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and successful achievement of rehabilitation goals.

• Educate residents and their families on home exercise programs, safety precautions, and strategies to maintain progress after discharge.

• Observes emotional stability of residents, expresses interest in their progress, and prepares them for continuing care after discharge.

• Perform other duties as required to provide exceptional care to each resident.

What You Need
