Job summary

Rutland Center for Living and Rehabilitation in New York seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our award-winning team. You will support physical therapists in implementing treatment plans, deliver therapies, monitor progress, and help maintain a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, contribute to quality improvement, and document patient progress.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in the implementation of patient treatment plans
• Conduct physical therapy treatments and interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and clinical practices
• Maintain accurate and complete records of patient treatments and progress
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans

About the Role:

• Assist Physical Therapists in the implementation of patient treatment plans
• Conduct physical therapy treatments and interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist

• Assist with patient transfers, ambulation, and exercises
• Provide assistive devices and supportive equipment to patients
• Conduct patient education and training on proper body mechanics and exercise techniques
• Participate in care conferences and patient rounds
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Physical Therapy department
