Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) In House

Position: Physical Therapy Assistant for an In-house Skilled Nursing Facility.

Job Type: Full Time.

Job Purpose: To assist in planning, organizing, developing, and directing Physical Therapy services in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to ensure the highest quality of resident care is maintained.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide physical therapy services to residents under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Conduct resident screenings regularly to determine the need for intervention/treatment.
• Identify indications for evaluations and assist in conducting them under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in developing treatment plans with short-term and long-term goals.
• Conduct individual and group treatments as assigned, focusing on areas such as strength, mobility, balance, gait, and range of motion.
• Assist in selecting and adapting therapy techniques/media based on resident performance and consultation with the Physical Therapist.
• Monitor residents’ responses to interventions and consult with the Physical Therapist for modifications.
• Help establish and modify resident schedules in collaboration with the Physical Therapist and team members.
• Adhere to treatment schedules and modify as needed.
• Train residents, families, and staff in equipment use and safety.
• Participate in education for residents, families, and staff.
• Exercise sound judgment in planning and implementing therapy programs.
• Maintain punctuality and coordinate schedules for maximum productivity.
• Participate in Quality Assurance programs.
• Complete necessary documentation in compliance with CMS and using NetHealth EMR systems.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in applicable state(s).
• Commitment to ongoing continuing education and professional development.
