Job summary

Mission Healthcare is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Lompoc, CA for home health care. The role supports a dedicated patient care team, with full-time and/or part-time schedules in the South County area.

The starting pay is competitive, at $50 per hour, with a $5,000 signing bonus depending on experience and qualifications. Responsibilities include implementing the plan of care under a PT, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, and using modalities as

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program with an Associate's degree.
• Current PTA license or state certification as required.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy according to the Physical Therapist's plan of care.
• Treat patients to relieve pain, restore function, and maximize performance.
• Assist patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, gait and functional training.
• Use physical agents as appropriate (heat, cold, ultrasound, etc.).
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment to the PT and team.

Schedule/Shift: Full-time and/or part-time

Territory/Location: South County, Lompoc, Santa Maria

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct physical therapy according to the directions of Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s plan of care.
• Treat patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Direct and aid patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle re-education, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.
• Utilize physical agents, including, but not be limited to heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.
• Observe and report to the Physical Therapist and organization personnel the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in patient's condition.
• Instruct patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program with an Associate's degree in science or applied science approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.
• Current Physical Therapy certification or license as required by state law.
• Current BLS, hands-on CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and reliable, insured vehicle.
