Job summary

Elara Caring seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to support home health patients in the McHenry County area of Illinois. You will provide therapy under supervision, help patients progress toward mobility goals, and educate caregivers on home programs.

Required qualifications include an Illinois PTA license and graduation from an accredited PTA program; 6+ months experience preferred. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to patient homes are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
• 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services according to the treatment plan established by the Physical Therapist.
• Help patients work toward therapy goals that improve mobility, function, and independence.
• Monitor patient progress and promptly report changes in condition or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home therapy programs and techniques to support continued progress.
• Teach patients and families how to safely use assistive devices, including canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, and orthotics.
• Deliver safe, high-quality therapy services in accordance with physician orders, clinical standards, and state practice guidelines
