Job summary

Elara Caring is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our home care team, delivering patient-focused therapy in patients' homes to promote mobility and independence.

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the PTA will educate patients and caregivers, monitor progress, and travel between patient homes. The role requires a valid PTA license, graduation from an accredited program, and at least 6 months of experience preferred.

• 6+ months PTA experience preferred.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services per the treatment plan.

• Educate patients and caregivers on home therapy techniques.
• Teach use of assistive devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, orthotics).

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services according to the treatment plan established by the Physical Therapist.
• Help patients work toward therapy goals that improve mobility, function, and independence.
• Monitor patient progress and promptly report changes in condition or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home therapy programs and techniques to support continued progress.
• Teach patients and families how to safely use assistive devices, including canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, and orthotics.
• Deliver safe, high-quality therapy services in accordance with physician orders, clinical standards, and state practice guidelines

What is Required?

• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work
• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association
• 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment
• Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, OR have reliable transportation to travel between patient homes and assigned work locations
