Job summary

Belle Care Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in New Jersey is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to support residents under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The role offers Full Time, Part Time, and Per Diem options with a competitive hourly rate and a team-focused environment.

The PTA must hold an active NJ license and will participate in an interdisciplinary team, delivering care to residents with mobility and functional goals.

Qualifications

• Active NJ PTA license is required.
• Experience with rehabilitation residents is preferred.
• Able to work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Follow physicians' orders for resident care under the Physical Therapist guidance.
• Provide therapy and assist residents to maintain or improve function.
• Implement preventive measures and adapt equipment to prevent decline in function.
• Educate residents or caregivers to support functional goals.
• Maintain timely and accurate resident documentation per regulatory standards.
• Observe infection control procedures and safety policies.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident well-being.
• Uphold residents' rights and provide compassionate care.
• Perform duties efficiently and professionally as assigned.

The purpose of this position is to treat and document care for residents with impaired ability to perform at an independent level due to disease process, under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, participate in the interdisciplinary team meetings as required.

DUTIES

• Follow physicians' orders for resident care and follow directions of the Physical Therapist
• Provide appropriate treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of function possible within the confines of his/her physical abilities
• Provide appropriate treatment, preventative measures and adaptive equipment to prevent decline in residents' functions
• Provide appropriate resident or caregiver education to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of function possible within the confines of his/her physical abilities
• Maintain timely and accurate resident reports as required by federal, state and local regulatory agencies and third-party payers
• Provide adaptive equipment and preventative measures to prevent decline in residents' functions
• Observe infection control procedures
• Be responsible for the safety of residents under his/her supervision
• Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers
• Follow all facility Residents' Rights policies
• Remain positive and caring and act in the best interests of our residents
• Perform all duties assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner
• Perform other related duties as directed by the supervisor
