Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by CAPTE.
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Two years of experience in home health setting preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare home health documentation requirements.
• Excellent communication, organization, and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments as delegated by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence.
• Implement therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, balance activities, and other interventions per plan of care.
• Observe, document, and report patient responses and progress to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety techniques.
• Participate with other home health personnel in patient care planning and interdisciplinary communication.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation per agency policies and Medicare guidelines.

A Physical Therapist Assistant - PTA provides physical therapy services to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. Services are provided under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with physician orders, the established plan of care, and applicable state and federal regulations.

What you'll be doing
