Job summary

Boost Home Healthcare in Tampa provides in-home physical therapy services to help patients recover and stay independent at home. The Physical Therapist Assistant works under a licensed PT to deliver intermittent services per physician orders and the established plan of care.

The role emphasizes mobility, strength, balance, and safe functional activities, with documentation and care planning in collaboration with the supervising therapist and interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by CAPTE.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments as delegated by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence.
• Implement therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, balance activities, and other interventions outlined in the plan of care.
• Observe, document, and report patient responses and progress to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety techniques as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Participate with all other home healthcare personnel in patient care planning and interdisciplinary communication.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with agency policies and Medicare guidelines.

A Physical Therapist Assistant - PTA provides physical therapy services to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. Services are provided under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with physician orders, the established plan of care, and applicable state and federal regulations.

What we're looking for

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state in which practicing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Two (2) years of experience preferred in a home health setting.
• Knowledgeable and experienced with Medicare home health documentation requirements.
• Excellent communication, organization, and patient education skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team.
