Job summary

Sinai Post Acute Nursing and Rehab Center is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to implement and monitor therapy plans under supervision. You will deliver individualized treatments, assist the Physical Therapist with evaluations, and collaborate with the rehab team to promote resident independence and function.

Responsibilities include documenting care, leading treatment sessions, and educating residents and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program certified by the APTA.
• Licensed as required by the State.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides PT treatments including modalities and exercises.
• Acts as an assistant to the PT during tests and evaluations.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups with the PT.
• Instructs residents and families in PT techniques under supervision.
• Works with rehab team to develop programs for residents.
• Maintains timely documentation for residents treated.
• Attends care and staff meetings as PT representative.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and reports repairs as needed.
• Contributes to a caring, high-quality service environment.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) POSITION SUMMARY:

The Physical Therapist Assistant implements physical therapy programs and provides physical therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• 1 Implements resident's individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Physical Therapist;
• 2 Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including modalities and exercises;
• 3 Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures;
• 4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the physical therapist;
• 5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist;
• 6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;
• 7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;
• 8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist;
• 9 Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;
• 10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 1 Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• 2 Licensed as required by the State.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) JOB SKILLS:

• 1 Good organizational skills and time management skills.
• 2 Good verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES:

• 1 Interacts with residents, families, visitors and employees.
