• Minimum of three months recent experience as a PTA in a nursing home preferred.

Major Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing physical therapy services and programs.
• Interpret physical therapy policies and procedures to staff, residents, and families as needed.
• Participate in discharge planning, development, and implementation of resident care plans and assessments.
• Initiate individualized restorative programs in line with residents' care plans.
• Brief residents on procedures and prepare necessary equipment.
• Reassure residents before and during therapy treatments.
• Monitor residents’ responses to treatments and notify therapists if needed.
• Assist in ambulatory training and demonstrate the use of medical appliances involved in physical therapy.
• Create an environment that fulfills the facility's mission.
• Document changes and follow up on residents' conditions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Minimum of three months recent experience as a PTA in a nursing home preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Florida PTA License, CPR Certification.
