Amergis is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide services under the direction of the Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s plan of care. The role emphasizes treatment, implementation and documentation to support patient goals.
The assistant will help relieve pain, restore function, and maintain mobility, while assessing living environments for safety and coordinating with caregivers and the care team to achieve the plan of care.
The Physical Therapy Assistant provides physical therapy services including treatment, implementation and documentation under the direction of the Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s plan of care.
Provides physical therapy according to the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s plan of care according to state regulations
Treats individuals to help relieve pain, develops or restores function, and maintains Amergisum functional mobility and performance
Continues to assess the client’s living environment for barriers, safety risks and equipment needs
Directs and aids clients in active, passive and resistive therapeutic exercises, muscle re- education, functional gait and balance training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training
Instructs care and use of assistive mobility devices, braces and prosthetic or orthotic devices
Utilizes physical agents, including but not limited to heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage
Cleans and maintains equipment used in the field in accordance with manufactures directions and per policy
Instructs and educates individual, family, and/or caregivers in the use of and care of therapeutic appliances
Reports reaction(s) to treatment or change(s) in condition to physician and Physical Therapist
Identifies individual and family/caregiver needs for other supportive services and notifies Physical Therapist
Maintains communication with the company and other personnel caring for the client to assure that their efforts effectively complement each other and support the objectives outlined in the plan of care
Prepares and submits clinical progress-summaries based on the progress toward goals and responses to treatment
