Job summary

Ambercare Homecare is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join a growing team in Las Vegas, NM. This part-time role covers afternoons, evenings, weekends, and some home visits across multiple zip codes.

You will provide direct PT services under a supervising PT, focusing on pain relief, functional restoration and mobility training in home settings with a commitment to quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program with an Associates degree in science or applied science.
• Current licensure as a PTA in the state of practice.
• At least 1 year of PTA experience preferred.
• CPR certification maintained.
• Ability to perform home visits and provide home nursing care.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and car insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy according to supervising therapist and plan of care.
• Treat patients to relieve pain, restore function and maximize performance.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional activities.
• Administer non-complex modalities (heat, cold, electrical) for stable clients.
• Instruct and motivate patients in learning functional activities.
• Document treatments and progress in the clinical record.

What Youll Do

• Provides direct physical therapy according to directions of a qualified physical therapist and in accordance with the physicians plan of care and as defined in the state Physical Therapy Practice Act
• Treats patient to relieve pain develop or restore function and maintain maximum performance
• Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises muscle reeducation gait and functional training transfer activities and prosthetic training
• Administer non complex therapeutic exercises therapeutic massage traction heat light cold water and electrical modalities to clients with relatively stable conditions
• Instruct motivate and assist clients in learning and improving functional activities
• Observe clients progress and response to treatment and report finding to the physical therapist
• Assist in preparing clinical notes and progress reports documenting physical therapy treatments performed and submit them for review into the clinical record
• Report any changes in the clients condition to the qualified supervising Physical Therapist and Director of Nursing Director of Therapy Changes in the plan of care may be made following authorization instruction and supervision by the Physical Therapist
• Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs braces crutches canes and prosthetic or orthotic devices

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with either an Associates degree in science or applied science that is approved by American Physical Therapy Association Inc
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice
• At least one 1 years experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant preferred
• Complies and maintains current CPR certification
• Ability to make home visits and provide nursing care in the home environment
• Must have reliable transportation current drivers license and appropriate automobile insurance
