Job summary

Ambercare is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our home health team in Las Vegas, NM. This part-time role involves Monday–Friday afternoons/evenings and weekend shifts, covering 87701/87745/87732 areas, with comprehensive benefits and mileage reimbursement.

You will work under a supervising PT to deliver in-home therapy and support patient goals. Qualified candidates hold an accredited PTA degree and NM licensure, with CPR current and at least 1 year of PTA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current PTA licensure in the state of practice.
• At least 1 year PTA experience preferred.
• CPR certification current.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct PTA services under supervision per plan of care.
• Deliver therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional activities.
• Document treatments and progress notes in the clinical record.
• Travel to patient homes and ensure safety during visits.
• Communicate changes to supervising PT and Director of Nursing.
• Assist in preparing clinical notes and progress reports.

What Youll Do

• Provides direct physical therapy according to directions of a qualified physical therapist and in accordance with the physicians plan of care and as defined in the state Physical Therapy Practice Act
• Treats patient to relieve pain develop or restore function and maintain maximum performance
• Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises muscle reeducation gait and functional training transfer activities and prosthetic training
• Administer non complex therapeutic exercises therapeutic massage traction heat light cold water and electrical modalities to clients with relatively stable conditions
• Instruct motivate and assist clients in learning and improving functional activities
• Observe clients progress and response to treatment and report finding to the physical therapist
• Assist in preparing clinical notes and progress reports documenting physical therapy treatments performed and submit them for review into the clinical record
• Report any changes in the clients condition to the qualified supervising Physical Therapist and Director of Nursing Director of Therapy Changes in the plan of care may be made following authorization instruction and supervision by the Physical Therapist
• Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs braces crutches canes and prosthetic or orthotic devices

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with either an Associates degree in science or applied science that is approved by American Physical Therapy Association Inc
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice
• At least one 1 years experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant preferred
• Complies and maintains current CPR certification
• Ability to make home visits and provide nursing care in the home environment
• Must have reliable transportation current drivers license and appropriate automobile insurance
