Job Summary

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant at Crestwood Medical Center administers rehabilitative techniques to develop, maintain, or restore function affected by age, trauma, degenerative disease, congenital condition, or sudden pathology.

Essential Functions

1. Planning
   • Assist in evaluating treatment effectiveness and modify plans accordingly.
   • Identify and prioritize functional limitations and set realistic goals.
   • Determine treatment techniques and outline intervention plans.
   • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and assist in discharge planning.
2. Treatment
   • Utilize appropriate treatment methods under supervision.
   • Focus on posture, balance, strength, endurance, and functional abilities.
   • Ensure safe application of modalities and exercises, adjusting as needed.
   • Discontinue treatment upon goal achievement or if no longer beneficial.
3. Education
   • Provide education tailored to the patient’s developmental and cultural needs.
   • Ensure understanding and demonstrate effective teaching methods.
4. Documentation
   • Complete all patient care documentation accurately and timely.
   • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal and organizational standards.
5. Professionalism
   • Exercise professional judgment and abide by conduct standards.
   • Maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
   • Engage in ongoing professional development.

Additional duties include other responsibilities as assigned and compliance with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience in a PTA role required
