Job Description
The Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist.
- Deliver rehab services effectively and efficiently; adhere to established care plans, department, and patient schedules, and document services timely.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to implement programs suited to each patient's needs and capabilities.
- Assist the Physical Therapist during tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
- Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in physical therapy techniques under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all treated patients.
- Maintain, identify, and report equipment needs and repairs.
- Implement individualized treatment plans as established by the primary Physical Therapist.
- Provide treatments such as therapeutic exercises, functional training, manual therapy, and use of modalities.
- Organize and facilitate treatment groups in collaboration with the physical therapist.
- Assist in marketing the rehab department.
- In emergency or pandemic situations, duties may be adjusted to serve as frontline staff to meet resident needs.

Minimum Requirements
- Current Illinois PTA license in good standing.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience in skilled nursing facilities.

- Flexible schedule.
