Job summary

Bakersfield Post Acute is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehab team on a PRN basis at our Bakersfield, CA location.

The PTA provides direct patient care under a Physical Therapist's supervision to improve mobility, strength, and independence for residents in a skilled nursing and short-term rehab setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Active California PTA license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Demonstrated clinical competence and sound judgment.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication with residents, families and staff.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Geriatric or skilled nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement treatment plans to restore and maintain functional mobility.
• Document daily treatment notes and progress per state and facility standards.
• Communicate patient progress with rehab and interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in care conferences as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy department.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on exercises, mobility, and discharge planning.
• Comply with all regulations and facility policies.
