Job summary

Leaps and Bounds Pediatric Therapy is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to join our pediatric therapy team. The role supports a multidisciplinary outpatient practice offering physical, occupational, and speech therapies in a clinical setting and on-site ranch-based hippotherapy activities.

You will work with children to achieve therapy goals, document progress, and collaborate with therapists to tailor home exercise programs.

Qualifications

  • Possess a valid California PTA License.
  • Pediatric experience is a plus.
  • Clear Livescan and TB Test.
  • CPR Healthcare Provider Card required.
  • Availability must include until 6:30pm on weekdays.
  • Be a strong-team player and committed to growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients as outlined in the treatment plan.
  • Administer physical therapy treatments and use therapeutic devices.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with therapists to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Adhere to safety, infection control, and facility policies.

Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy is a multidisciplinary outpatient private practice in need of a licensed Certified Physical Therapist Assistant. We are a growing and fast-paced campus that offers Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services in a traditional clinical setting, as well as on our ranch, with the incorporation of the horse as part of a comprehensive evidence-based plan (hippotherapy.)

Physical Therapist Assistant Job Duties:
  • Help patient accomplish goals outlined in treatment plan and effective use of therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as therapeutic exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities and in using assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  • Administer physical therapy treatment applying physical agents, electrical stimulation.
  • Evaluate effects of physical therapy treatments and fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending adjustments and modifications in conjunction with primary physical therapist.
  • Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment with primary physical therapist.
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, according to the law.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protects clinic operations by keeping information confidential, according to the law.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.

The compensation range varies based on experience, $58,240- $72,800.00/a year.
