Job summary

UCHealth Parkview Medical Center is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist Assistant to support the rehabilitation team onsite in Pueblo, CO.

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, you will implement treatment plans, monitor patient responses, and document progress. You will educate patients and families about deficits and adaptive equipment, assist with discharge planning, and collaborate with staff to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant or related program.
  • CO State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider; BLS/CPR valid through start date.

$22.54 - $33.81 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option.

Summary

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, treats patient population for therapy needs.

Responsibilities

Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.

Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist. Documents services provided and patient response/progress.

Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits and providing information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs. Assists with patient discharge planning.

Performs all underlying duties of the job including but not limited to supervising support personnel according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant or related program.
  • CO State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
