Oklahoma State University Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide patient-centered care under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists. The PTA executes treatment plans, administers modalities, and supports documentation and communication across care teams to optimize patient independence and outcomes.
The role requires an accredited 2-year Associate Degree (preferred) and licensure as an Oklahoma Physical Therapist Assistant with CPR/BLS certification.
Under the guidance of the Director of Rehab Medicine, the Clinical Coordinator, and the Physical Therapists, the Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for treatment of patients following disability, injury, disease or amputation, to help attain a maximum level of independence and performance. The PTA follows the treatment plans as established by the Physical Therapist and administers modalities and other related procedures, under the prescription of the patient's physician and supervision of the Physical Therapist. Treatment will be provided in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. He/she is responsible for documentation and communication of all necessary information to all appropriate parties. The PTA is responsible for care of patients in all patient care areas of OSU Medical Center, as situation requires. The PTA must follow standards of performance for Physical Therapist Assistants as established by all governing bodies. He/she also performs other duties as required.
