Job summary

Oklahoma State University Rehabilitation Services invites applications for a Physical Therapist Assistant (Outpatient) to support rehabilitation in a clinical setting. The PTA will work under the guidance of the Director of Rehab Medicine, the Clinical Coordinator, and Physical Therapists to implement treatment plans and document clinical progress.

The candidate should have an Associate Degree (preferred), an OK PTA license, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Education: 2-year/Associate Degree (preferred).
• License/Certification: OK Physical Therapist Assistant License (new graduates must take the exam within 3 Months & receive full licensure within 9 months)
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients following disability, injury, disease or amputation and assist in attaining independence and performance.
• Follow treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist and administer modalities under physician prescription and PT supervision.
• Document and communicate all necessary information to appropriate parties; provide care in OSU Medical Center patient areas as needed.

Job Description

Under the guidance of the Director of Rehab Medicine, the Clinical Coordinator, and the Physical Therapists, the Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for treatment of patients following disability, injury, disease or amputation, to help attain a maximum level of independence and performance. The PTA follows the treatment plans as established by the Physical Therapist and administers modalities and other related procedures, under the prescription of the patient's physician and supervision of the Physical Therapist. Treatment will be provided in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. He/she is responsible for documentation and communication of all necessary information to all appropriate parties. The PTA is responsible for care of patients in all patient care areas of OSU Medical Center, as situation requires. The PTA must follow standards of performance for Physical Therapist Assistants as established by all governing bodies. He/she also performs other duties as required.
