Job Description

$5,000 Sign-on Bonus for external candidates only with a one-year commitment to the organization.

ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services in southern Michigan and Ohio. A national leader in treatment of heart attack, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and surgical care, ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital is also a pacesetter in Michigan for obstetrics, emergency care, intensive care, infection control, and organ donation.

The Physical Therapist Assistant administers various physical therapy programs under the guidelines established by a Licensed Physical Therapist to facilitate rehabilitation of physically disabled patients, maximize function and independence. The role involves directing patient participation in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance, and facilitating learning.

Accountabilities

1. Provides physical therapy treatments following established plans, under supervision of a physical therapist, considering patient age and educational level, and accurately assesses patient responses to treatment, as measured by clinical competencies. Assists therapists with measurements without interpretation or evaluation.
2. Prepares and maintains accurate patient care records according to departmental protocols and demonstrates basic competency in billing and electronic documentation under therapist supervision.
3. Maintains a clean and safe work environment to comply with hospital and departmental safety standards.
4. Demonstrates professionalism in clinical practice, understanding and abiding by ProMedica’s mission and values in all interactions with patients, visitors, and co-workers.

Job Requirements

• Education: Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution
• License: Current State license to practice as a physical therapy assistant
• Certification: CPR
