Job description

Physical Therapy Assistant Opening in Overland Park, KS at ESPT

The Physical Therapy Assistant role at ESPT is a great fit for a PTA who wants hands-on work, meaningful patient interaction, and a clinic that truly values the patient-to-PTA experience. If you enjoy helping people move better and recover faster-while working within a supportive, team-focused environment-this role delivers.

As a Physical Therapy Assistant at ESPT you’ll work closely with our Physical Therapists to carry out individualized treatment plans and provide high-quality, evidence-based care. Your day-to-day work directly impacts patient outcomes, satisfaction, and overall recovery-making you an essential part of our clinical team.

What sets us apart:
  • 1:1 Patient-to-PTA experience always comes first.
  • Performance and productivity are recognized and rewarded.
  • Collaborative, respectful team culture.
  • Efficient documentation and admin systems.
  • Ongoing training and mentorship opportunities.

You’ll spend your time doing what matters most: working with patients, supporting their progress, and contributing to a positive, professional clinic environment.

If you’re looking for a role where your skills are valued, your growth is supported, and your work makes a real difference, this opportunity is worth your attention.

You’ll work alongside exceptional Physical Therapists who genuinely value the unique role of the PTA, fostering a collaborative partnership built on trust, mutual respect, shared clinical excellence, and a commitment to achieving the best possible patient outcomes.

We are accepting applications for both full-time and part-time roles.

What Helps You Thrive Here:
  • Genuinely enjoys connecting with people and brings warmth, empathy, encouragement, and positive energy to every patient interaction.
  • Builds trust through exceptional communication-listening well, educating clearly, and helping patients feel heard, valued, and empowered throughout their recovery.
  • Believes exceptional patient care extends beyond clinical treatment to every interaction, creating an experience where patients feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for.
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment, partnering closely with Physical Therapists and teammates who value the unique role PTAs play in achieving outstanding patient outcomes.
  • Approaches challenges with a growth mindset, welcomes coaching and feedback, and is committed to continual personal and professional development.
  • Takes ownership of responsibilities by being dependable, accountable, and committed to excellence-even when no one is watching.
  • Brings curiosity, initiative, and critical thinking to each treatment session while recognizing that every visit is an opportunity to educate, motivate, and move a patient closer to their goals.
  • Maintains a positive, solution-oriented attitude and adapts with flexibility and resilience in a fast-paced private practice environment.
  • Is passionate about health, movement, fitness, and helping people regain confidence, independence, and quality of life.
  • Brings the emotional energy and genuine desire to connect with people throughout the day, understanding that exceptional rehabilitation depends as much as relationships, encouragement, and trust as it does on clinical skill.
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Active or eligible Kansas licensure to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Outpatient experience preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities.
  • Document patient progress accurately and communicate updates to the supervising PT.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment.
Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and patient communication skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
  • Solid understanding of physical therapy techniques and principles.
  • Ability to follow direction while working independently when appropriate.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and grow.
