Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking a licensed or license-eligible Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver PT care under the supervision of a licensed PT. The PTA will document care in the medical record and may supervise rehab staff and students across multiple clinical services.

The role requires graduation from an accredited PTA program, licensure in Virginia, and may require CPR certification. Weekend and holiday scheduling is expected to meet patient care needs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is primarily responsible for the delivery of Physical Therapy care to the patient population to which she/he is assigned and the recording of that care in the hospital medical record. The PTA acts as a consultant to various patient populations. The PTA must work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist according to the laws and practice regulations of the State of Virginia. The Physical Therapist Assistant provides instruction to OT/PT support staff, PT students, personnel of other disciplines within VCUHS, and patient and/or family members.
