Job summary

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for inpatient rehabilitation on a Per-Diem basis. The role requires graduation from an accredited PTA program, Michigan state licensure, and current BLS certification.

Training will be provided within 30 days of hire. The PTA will work under the supervision of a physical therapist to support patient care in a high-volume inpatient setting.

Requirements

Minimum Requirement of 3 weekend days every 6 weeks. We are also comfortable with a Friday possibly counting that as one of her weekend day requirements

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services as assigned by, and under the supervision of, a physical therapist.
• Keeps treatment skills updated through continuing education, evidence-based research, and program development.
• Perform job responsibilities in accordance with the program's strategic objectives and goals to carry out organizational strategic objectives.
• Staff will provide patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification or registration and as required by law and regulation.

• Document's patient's status and progress according to established internal/external time standards and adherence to reimbursement guidelines. (Q)

• Participates in conferences/discussions and exchange of written records with other interdisciplinary team members as directed by the physical therapist to integrate physical therapy treatment plan.
• Instructs the patient and the family in physical therapy procedures as part of providing patient and family education including written instructions as necessary.
