Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking a motivated full-time Physical Therapist Assistant in New York to join a supportive, growth-focused team. You will work under a supervising Physical Therapist to deliver individualized care, document patient progress, and participate in mentorship and development programs designed to enhance clinical reasoning and hands-on skills.

Qualifications

• Licensed PTA in New York state.
• Hands-on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training and physical modalities.
• Ability to communicate and instruct effectively.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in patient care, notifying the supervising PT of patient condition concerns.
• Follows the Plan of Care established by the PT and practices within state guidelines.
• Exercises sound judgement, care, professionalism and skill in duties.
• Instructs and counsels patients in exercises and recovery.
• Identifies patient needs and shows compassion and care.
• Conveys modifications ensuring patient progress, safety and comfort to the PT.
• Completes documentation in the EMR to support PT services.
• Under direct supervision of and with co-signature by a PT, records daily notes.
• Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests.
• Helps treat patients by applying ice/heat, assisting onto equipment, monitoring motion, guiding exercises.
• Educates patients on equipment use and exercise routines.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and protects operations.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment per procedures and regulations.
• Contributes to department and organization reputation by taking on new requests and adding value as a team player.
• Reports issues needing resolution to PTs.
