IMC is currently seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Rehab Services team on a Full Time basis. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist and the Director of Rehab Services, the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will implement treatment plans and provide medically necessary physical therapy to restore function, prevent disability, decrease pain, and promote healing following disease, injury, or sickness.

The PTA will assist patients in reaching their maximum potential and reintegrate into society while learning to live within their capabilities. This role involves working in various settings, including home health, outpatient, and inpatient environments. The therapist must have the knowledge and competency to provide care considering physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety concerns across all age groups—from neonates to geriatrics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Associates degree from an approved PTA program or equivalent via the Grandfather clause with over 2 years of experience in multiple settings.
• Current valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Louisiana or a temporary permit granted by LSBPTE.

Training and Experience:

• Successful completion of long-term clinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient environments from an accredited PTA school or at least one year of recent experience in inpatient or outpatient practice.

Principal Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Treat patients
• Monitor and assess patients
• Reassess patients
• Assist the Director of Rehab in developing policies and procedures
• Assist with scheduling patients
• Document patient care
• Support daily operations of outpatient and inpatient rehab services
• Assist PT with service delivery as requested
