Job summary

Santa Monica Healthcare Center in Oakland, CA seeks a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to support a licensed Physical Therapist in implementing patient treatment plans. You will help residents with prescribed exercises, monitor progress, and educate families on routines and equipment use.

You will document outcomes, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and participate in team care to optimize patient function and safety.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required from APTA-accredited program.
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state.
• Experience with resident treatment plans is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Documents resident progress toward established goals.
• Teaches exercises to residents, family members, and caregivers and may instruct in use and care of orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assisting apparatus.

SUMMARY

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to assist with a patient’s treatment program in accordance with federal guidelines and state practice acts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Documents resident progress towards meeting established goals.


• Teaches exercises to residents, family members, and caregivers and may provide instruction in the use and care for orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assisting apparatus.


• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate Degree from an APTA accredited program


• Licensed as Physical Therapist Assistant
