Physical Therapist Assistant | Part Time | Columbia, TN
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Part‑Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our therapy team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high‑quality, patient‑focused care and support rehabilitation goals through prescribed treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver physical therapy treatments according to the established plan of care
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, functional mobility, gait training, and balance activities
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and report progress or concerns to the Physical Therapist
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety techniques
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment
- Collaborate with therapists and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Comply with all state regulations, facility policies, and professional standards
Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the applicable state
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently under supervision
- Physical capability to assist patients with movement, transfers, and exercises
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in outpatient therapy, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or home health
- Familiarity with electronic documentation systems
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
