Millennial Healthcare’s North Campus in Leesburg, FL seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant for full-time and PRN shifts in our in-house rehab program. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for full-time hires.

You will work under a PT supervision to help residents regain function, with paid time off, benefits, and opportunities for mentorship. Florida licensure and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Current Florida license as PTA.
• Current CPR certification.
• At least 1 year experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Identifies patient care issues to support PT effectiveness.
• Administers treatment programs for patients.
• Assesses patient health through interviews, exams and therapy histories.
• Evaluates conditions by reviewing therapist interpretations and test results.
• Performs therapeutic procedures including exercises and daily living activities.
• Supports patients in using devices such as crutches and canes.
• Instructs patients on regimens and promotes wellness and health maintenance.

Summary of the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA):

A PTA is responsible for assisting Physical Therapist in helping patients recover and rehabilitate from the effects of a serious illness, injury or medical event, regaining their own best possible level of functional ability, well-being and independence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA):

• Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist.
• Contributes to a physical therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues.
• Administers treatment programs for patients.
• Assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining updating, and studying therapy histories.
• Evaluates abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapist’s interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.
• Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.
• Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
• Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.

Job Requirements of Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA):

• Current Florida License as a PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant).
• Current CPR.
• At least one (1) experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.
