Job summary

Isle Health & Rehab Center is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team with a $3,500 sign-on bonus. The role supports the Physical Therapist in rehabilitating patients in a skilled nursing setting. The position offers FT and PRN shifts at our Fleming Island, FL facility.

Qualified candidates hold a Florida PTA license, current CPR, and ideally have SNF experience to help patients regain independence and functional ability. We value compassionate care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Current Florida license as a PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant).
• Current CPR certification.
• At least one year of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist.
• Contributes to a physical therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues.
• Administers treatment programs for patients.
• Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and reviewing therapy histories.
• Evaluates and documents progress based on therapist interpretations and results.
• Instructs patients in therapeutic regimens and exercises to improve function and independence.

Summary of the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA):

A PTA is responsible for assisting Physical Therapist in helping patients recover and rehabilitate from the effects of a serious illness, injury or medical event, regaining their own best possible level of functional ability, well-being and independence.

Job Requirements of Registered Physical Therapists (PTA):

• Current Florida License as a PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant)
• Current CPR
• At least one (1) experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA):

• Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist.
• Contributes to a physical therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues.
• Administers treatment programs for patients.
• Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining updating, and studying therapy histories.
• Evaluates abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapist’s interpretations of patient evaluations and test results..
• Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.
• Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
• Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
