Job Summary:

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) will provide direct patient care services under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT). The PTA will be responsible for documenting patient treatments, changes in condition, and other pertinent information as required.

PTA Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain, improve or restore function, and promote healing.
2. Providing skilled physical therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
3. Responding to requests for service by relaying information and referrals to the Physical Therapist.
4. Implementing and modifying the patient’s physical therapy plan of treatment with PT supervision.
5. Measuring & recording patient’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
6. Monitoring patient response to treatment intervention and modifying treatment approach and directive as clinically appropriate with IDT collaboration.
7. Providing clinical support and education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
8. Ensuring documentation is completed thoroughly and timely and complies with all company and state/federal regulatory requirements.

PTA Skills:

1. SNF/Long term care experience preferred.
2. Current knowledge of treatment practices.
3. Knowledge of Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred.
4. Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.

Required Licensure:

1. Active/Valid Texas license as Physical Therapy Assistant.
2. In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
