Job Summary:

Conducts medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

1. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
2. Provides physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.
3. Performs therapy interventions utilizing techniques and skills appropriate for the patient population.
4. Documents treatment interventions given.
5. May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students, and support personnel.
6. Works in a safe manner and maintains alertness at all times.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Experience:

• No experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Constant standing.
• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
• Frequent use of hearing and speech for communication.
• Frequent use of hearing to detect sounds and alarms.
• Frequent use of vision for near and far distances.
• Frequent walking, reaching, gripping, and data entry.
• Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements.
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Occasional lifting/moving patients.
• Occasional use of vision to judge distances and identify colors.
• Occasional driving.
• Rare crawling.

Required Professional License and Certifications:

Resuscitation Certification: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) required within 90 days of employment. Other certifications may be required depending on department.
