Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking an Acute Physical Therapist Assistant for Pool/PRN at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, FL. The role supports physical therapy through implementing plans, guiding exercises, gait training, and patient education within a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will collaborate with nurses, physicians, and rehab staff to ensure high-quality care and accurate documentation, while adhering to infection control policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional ADL mobility interventions.
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the supervising therapist.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and techniques to support recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, and occupational therapists.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
• Adhere to infection control and hospital policies.

Acute Physical Therapist Assistant Key Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.

Requirements

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant)
• Or PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) Temporary and licensure within 6 months
• Required Associate's Physical Therapy
• Preferred 1-year Physical Therapy Assistant
